Orange Essential Oil

Untitled design (7)

Young Living’s orange essential oil is a pretty straightforward oil.

It smells like oranges.

It tastes like oranges.

See what I mean?

You can use orange essential oil to enhance the flavor of food or water. You’ve heard of drinking lemon water. Well, add a drop or two of orange oil to your water. Yum.

Or, if you have a recipe that calls for a hint of citrus flavor, add a couple of drops of orange oil to it.

Orange oil happens to be a Premium Starter Kit flex oil. You may remember that a flex oil may become part of the kit in the event that a regular kit oil is not available.

Orange essential oil also made appearances in some diffuser recipes from this past year. See them here:

Spring Diffuser Recipes – Part 4

Spring diffuser

Ready for this week’s spring diffuser recipe?

Good, because it’s a fun one.

oil13

Flourish

4 drops Ylang Ylang essential oil

2 drops Purification essential oil

2 drops Stress Away essential oil

This one had a very pleasant scent, and it definitely filled the room quickly. And it really brought a spring-like feeling to the house.

If you’re new to Young Living essential oils, remember that the Premium Starter Kit  is a great way to try out the most popular and commonly used oils. Most of the oils used in these springtime recipes are included in the PSK – including Purification and Stress Away  from today’s recipe.

AND – the PSK also includes a diffuser!! The diffuser is simple to use, and it will enable you to experience your oils in a whole new way.

And, if you are a veteran oiler, there is a good chance that you have a multitude of diffusers throughout your home.

There are so many different diffusers out there now, and so many of them are FUN!

Remember the SpaGlow diffuser I talked about in week one, the one that changes colors?

Here are a couple more diffusers you can check out. These have been very popular in my area, and I am looking to add one (or two or three) to my collection.

So, it’s hard to believe that we’re already at the end of the spring diffuser series. If you missed any of the other posts, you can find them here:

Week 1

Week 2

Week 3

I really hope you have enjoyed these recipes. I know I had a blast throwing different oils together to make a “spring –y” blend.

Have you tried your own spring combo in the diffuser? I’d love to hear it and try it out!

Well, I’m going to get started on my summer diffuser recipes for a new series to be published in June.

Happy diffusing!

Spring Diffuser Recipes – Part 3

Spring diffuser

Hi there.

Have you been enjoying your springtime diffuser recipes? Here’s week 1  and week 2  if you missed them.

This week’s recipe has been my favorite so far. It had a nice, sweet fragrance, and it wasn’t overpowering. And I felt very relaxed as it was diffusing.

Here it is:

oil12

Renewal

4 drops Geranium essential oil

2 drops Frankincense  essential oil

2 drops Lemon  essential oil

Both Frankincense  and lemon  oils are included in the Premium Starter Kit , so if you’re new to oiling, that’s a great way to get started. Plus the kit comes with a diffuser!!

I hope you enjoy the latest recipe!

See you next week for the final post in the spring diffuser recipe series!

Spring Diffuser Recipes – Part 2

Spring diffuser

For this week’s spring diffuser recipe, I used Young Living’s Joy , lavender, and orange essential oils.

spring2

Here’s the recipe (which I named Bloom):

Bloom

3 drops Joy

2 drops Lavender

1 drop Orange

This combo gave the room a sweet, mild fragrance.

Now, remember – you can adjust the recipe to your liking. For example, if you prefer a strong floral scent, you can add more drops of the Joy oil. Or you can leave out the orange oil altogether.

I added the orange to sweeten the scent up a little, because I do not care for overpowering floral scents. (actually, when I diffused this recipe the first time, I accidentally dropped in two drops of the orange oil. So the citrus smell was more noticeable than I intended.)

And feel free to “up” the number of drops if you want a more powerful fragrance. I tend to be conservative on the number of drops I use. But that’s just me.

If you have a Premium Starter Kit, or if you are planning on getting one, you will already have Joy and Lavender on hand. Orange oil is not included in the kit, but Lemon is, as is Citrus Fresh. Either of those can be used in place of the orange oil. Of course, if you really prefer Orange, that can be purchased separately. It’s a very affordable oil, at just $10.75 wholesale ($14.14 retail).

I used my Young Living diffuser for this one (the one that comes with the Premium Starter kit ), but if you prefer a cool, color-changing diffuser, check out last week’s post for pictures and info on that.

And let me know how you enjoyed this week’s recipe! What modifications did you make, if any? I’d love to try out different variations, so let me know what worked for you.

See you next week with a brand new recipe!

Young Living Personal Care Item: Soap

Untitled design(9)

That’s right, in addition to essential oils, Young Living also offers an extensive line of personal care items.

Like soap.

And who doesn’t love an all-natural, great smelling soap?

All of Young Living’s soaps contain essential oils and are specially formulated not only to cleanse, but to soothe and moisturize your skin. Sounds good to me.

And listen to some of the names of the bar soaps that Young Living offers: Lemon-Sandalwood. Lavender-Rosewood. Peppermint-Cedarwood. Melaleuca-Geranium.

Don’t they sound great?

There are 8 “flavors” of bar soaps to choose from, and 2 foaming hand soaps. Check out the product guide on the Order Oils page to see them all.

Thieves Essential Oil

Thieves. Sounds like a strange name for an essential oil right? I had a friend ask me recently (with a grin on her face), “so if I apply this, does it make me want to steal?” Haha.

Well, according to Young Living’s website, the name Thieves comes from a well-researched story about 4 thieves from France who would rob plague victims. The thieves would cover themselves with cloves and rosemary before coming into contact with the plague victims in order to protect themselves.

Which leads to the next question – what exactly is in Young Living’s Thieves essential oil? Thieves is a blended oil, which means that it contains more than one essential oil. The oils used in Thieves are clove, rosemary, cinnamon, lemon, and eucalyptus radiata. All of those oils on their own are very effective oils. Young Living put them all together to make one SUPER oil to support healthy immune function.

I have diffused Thieves in our home to help contribute to better health. And another reason it’s great to diffuse? It smells great!

If you’d like to find out more about Thieves, or any of the other Young Living essential oils, shoot me a message!

P.S. – Thieves is part of Young Living’s Premium Starter Kit!
