Diffusers (and a diffuser recipe!)

Do you love diffusing your Young Living essential oils as much as I do?

I mean, seriously, there’s nothing better than a sweetly scented room.

That’s probably why I like to post so many diffuser recipes.

And it’s also probably why I am always searching for cool new diffusers, even though I only have 4 right now.

Ok, so maybe 4 diffusers might seem like a little much to some, but serious oilers know you can never have too many diffusers 😉

And if you consider that I have about 27 diffusers on my Amazon wish list, four suddenly doesn’t seem so bad.

At least that’s what I tell myself.

Now first, I will say that my favorite diffusers are Young Living’s own diffusers. Like the ones that you get as part of the Premium Starter Kit.

I’m not just saying that because I’m a YL distributor either. The Young Living diffusers are really the most efficient and best working that I have used.

But since I use diffusers so much, I love to see what else is out there that I can add to my collection. (although I will admit that if my husband sees yet another diffuser in the house, he may not, um, share my enthusiasm.)

Here are a few diffusers that I’ve been checking out (click their names (in blue) to see more info):

URPower

urpowernew

This diffuser changes to 7 different colors and has an auto shut off feature. This is the 2nd version of this diffuser – it was updated to produce more mist.

Levoit

levoitdiffuser

This diffuser also changes to 7 colors, and you can control the mist output. And here’s a bonus – you can plug this into a wall or a USB port!

Art Naturals

artnaturalsdiffuser

Is this cool looking or what!?!?

This beauty also changes to 7 colors, and is super quiet.

PureSpa

purespa

This one changes to 5 colors, and has a super sleek design. It can run for up to 7 hours.

Of course, there are many more diffusers out there, and even a few more that I have talked about before – find them here and here.

So now that I’ve got you super pumped about all these diffusers, I’ll share a quick diffuser recipe that I tried a couple of days ago.

2 drops Thieves

3 drops Peppermint

2 drops Peace and Calming

newcombo

I wanted a strong, invigorating scent so I added Thieves and Peppermint to the diffuser. Then, at the last second, I decided to throw Peace and Calming in there too. Wow, was it a great combo! I really enjoyed this one.

(p.s. – for you very observant readers, yes, I did photograph unopened bottles for a “cleaner” look).

Well, I’m off to try out another diffuser combo.

I’ll let you know how it goes!

Purification Essential Oil

1

Young Living’s Purification essential oil is made up of six different oils: citronella, rosemary, lemongrass, tea tree, lavandin, and myrtle.

Purification can be used to freshen the air and eliminate odors.

That’s why this is one of my favorite oils to diffuse. It just smells sooo good. It has a clean and pleasant scent.

I like to diffuse Purification when we have guests over to the house. It adds a nice aroma to the air without overpowering the room.

You can also add a few drops of Purification to cotton balls and place them in the a/c vents of your house or car.

Purification can also be used in relaxation applications.

You can add a few drops to a massage oil (Young Living has a great one called V-6), and rub it on your feet for a soothing effect.

Or, you can add some drops to Epsom salts for a relaxing bath. (4 drops oil to 1 cup Epsom salt)

Finally, Purification can be applied topically to “enjoy the outdoors annoyance-free” (exact phrase in quotes taken from Young Living’s product claims). This is where the citronella part of the oil can benefit the most.

And yes, because I know you’re probably wondering – Purification is part of the Premium Starter Kit!

New Premium Starter Kit!

newkitlarge

Yes, it’s true.

Young Living has an all-new Premium Starter Kit. And it’s awesome.

It includes several of the most popular oils that were previously in the kit:

Lemon Vitality

Lavender

Peppermint Vitality

Thieves Vitality

Frankincense

PanAway

Stress Away

Purification

…. and 3 oils that are new to the kit, but were already so well loved by oil users:

R.C

DiGize Vitality

Copaiba Vitality

Here’s another cool perk about Young Living’s new Premium Starter Kit.

You get to choose your diffuser.

Because, remember, in addition to receiving the eleven oils listed above and all the cool samples, this kit also includes a diffuser!

Here are the four choices you have, with the kit price listed beside them:

Another new feature to the Premium Starter Kit is the flex oils.

Flex oils are used to replace an oil in the kit that may be temporarily out of stock.

That way, your kit ships on time and you can start enjoying your oils right away.

These are the flex oils:

Tea Tree (Melaleuca Alternifolia)

Orange

Lemongrass

Citrus Fresh

Aroma Ease

And remember the HUGE advantage to buying a Premium Starter Kit?

When you purchase a Premium Starter Kit, you automatically become a wholesale member – meaning that all of your future orders (you know, after you are amazed at the results of the every day oils and you want to try MORE), well all of those future orders will be 24% off of the retail price!!

You will keep that awesome savings for the life of your membership – the only requirement being that you place one (JUST ONE!) order per YEAR.  Plus, you have the option to become an independent distributor and earn some extra income – but that is YOUR CHOICE. There is NO obligation at all to do so.

And here’s a sweet final perk.

If you order a Premium Starter Kit through me, you will receive free membership into our private online resource called Oil Moxie.

Oil Moxie contains a wealth of information on getting started with the oils, including documents and instructional videos. You can even find step by step help on how to start a business with Young Living essential oils if that interests you.

Head on over here to get started!

Summer Diffuser Recipes – Part 1

Summer diffuser series

.

Well, it’s hard to believe, but summer is here!

Ok, technically, not until the 21st.

But I live in Florida, remember? We get a head start on summer. Usually in March.

You know, right after we get over that brutal winter we had from February 15-27th.

Ahem.

So I had so much fun doing the Spring Diffuser series that I thought I’d try out some more recipes for summer.

And, as you’ll remember from the spring series, I like to keep it simple.

Two or three oils, usually commonly used ones.

I tried out this first recipe in the office where I work. I figured it would be a great way to get some feedback on how the blend of oils work together.

My co-workers loved this one.

I think you will too.

Here’s what I used:

lemonlimelavender

4 drops lemon essential oil

4 drops lime essential oil

2 drops lavender essential oil

Now, remember, you can adjust the recipe by adding or subtracting the number of drops of each oil in order to fit your fragrance preference.

If you’re new to essential oils, you can check out Young Living’s Premium Starter Kit. It comes with 11 oils, (including the lemon and lavender used here), and a super cool diffuser.

Or if you already use oils and you’d like to add a diffuser to your home (because, really, we can never have enough of these) – don’t forget to check out some of the diffusers I talked about in the spring series.

Here are the posts in case you missed them:

Let me know what you think of this recipe.

I’ll be back next week with a new one!

Spring Diffuser Recipes – Part 4

Spring diffuser

Ready for this week’s spring diffuser recipe?

Good, because it’s a fun one.

oil13

Flourish

4 drops Ylang Ylang essential oil

2 drops Purification essential oil

2 drops Stress Away essential oil

This one had a very pleasant scent, and it definitely filled the room quickly. And it really brought a spring-like feeling to the house.

If you’re new to Young Living essential oils, remember that the Premium Starter Kit  is a great way to try out the most popular and commonly used oils. Most of the oils used in these springtime recipes are included in the PSK – including Purification and Stress Away  from today’s recipe.

AND – the PSK also includes a diffuser!! The diffuser is simple to use, and it will enable you to experience your oils in a whole new way.

And, if you are a veteran oiler, there is a good chance that you have a multitude of diffusers throughout your home.

There are so many different diffusers out there now, and so many of them are FUN!

Remember the SpaGlow diffuser I talked about in week one, the one that changes colors?

Here are a couple more diffusers you can check out. These have been very popular in my area, and I am looking to add one (or two or three) to my collection.

Spa Mister

Spa Vapor

So, it’s hard to believe that we’re already at the end of the spring diffuser series. If you missed any of the other posts, you can find them here:

Week 1

Week 2

Week 3

I really hope you have enjoyed these recipes. I know I had a blast throwing different oils together to make a “spring –y” blend.

Have you tried your own spring combo in the diffuser? I’d love to hear it and try it out!

Well, I’m going to get started on my summer diffuser recipes for a new series to be published in June.

Happy diffusing!

Spring Diffuser Recipes – Part 3

Spring diffuser

Hi there.

Have you been enjoying your springtime diffuser recipes? Here’s week 1  and week 2  if you missed them.

This week’s recipe has been my favorite so far. It had a nice, sweet fragrance, and it wasn’t overpowering. And I felt very relaxed as it was diffusing.

Here it is:

oil12

Renewal

4 drops Geranium essential oil

2 drops Frankincense  essential oil

2 drops Lemon  essential oil

Both Frankincense  and lemon  oils are included in the Premium Starter Kit , so if you’re new to oiling, that’s a great way to get started. Plus the kit comes with a diffuser!!

I hope you enjoy the latest recipe!

See you next week for the final post in the spring diffuser recipe series!

Spring Diffuser Recipes – Part 2

Spring diffuser

For this week’s spring diffuser recipe, I used Young Living’s Joy , lavender, and orange essential oils.

spring2

Here’s the recipe (which I named Bloom):

Bloom

3 drops Joy

2 drops Lavender

1 drop Orange

This combo gave the room a sweet, mild fragrance.

Now, remember – you can adjust the recipe to your liking. For example, if you prefer a strong floral scent, you can add more drops of the Joy oil. Or you can leave out the orange oil altogether.

I added the orange to sweeten the scent up a little, because I do not care for overpowering floral scents. (actually, when I diffused this recipe the first time, I accidentally dropped in two drops of the orange oil. So the citrus smell was more noticeable than I intended.)

And feel free to “up” the number of drops if you want a more powerful fragrance. I tend to be conservative on the number of drops I use. But that’s just me.

If you have a Premium Starter Kit, or if you are planning on getting one, you will already have Joy and Lavender on hand. Orange oil is not included in the kit, but Lemon is, as is Citrus Fresh. Either of those can be used in place of the orange oil. Of course, if you really prefer Orange, that can be purchased separately. It’s a very affordable oil, at just $10.75 wholesale ($14.14 retail).

I used my Young Living diffuser for this one (the one that comes with the Premium Starter kit ), but if you prefer a cool, color-changing diffuser, check out last week’s post for pictures and info on that.

And let me know how you enjoyed this week’s recipe! What modifications did you make, if any? I’d love to try out different variations, so let me know what worked for you.

See you next week with a brand new recipe!
