7 Essential Oils to Help You Beat Occasional Stress


My muscles tense just typing that word.
Oh, and here’s a pet peeve of mine – don’t you hate it when you go to the doctor and they ask “do you have stress?”
Are we living on the same planet?
Because I don’t think I know of anyone who does not have stress. Even babies. (those dirty diapers can cause a bit of tension)

So why do they ask? Any doctors out there care to clear this up? Because, Doc, if you really want to know about my stress, you should probably have a PhD as well. If you get what I’m saying.

It’s a given that we all experience occasional stress.
So I think it’s great that Young Living offers several oils that can alleviate that stress.
I made a list of the 7 oils that I use the most when I am stressed out.

1- Stress Away
Duh. The name says it all.
Stress Away is a blend of Copaiba, Lime, Cedarwood, Vanilla, Ocotea, and Lavender.
I didn’t like the smell of the Stress Away oil at first, but it’s growing on me. I use this oil mostly at night before I head to bed.

2- Peace and Calming
This oil has a more gentle scent, and it contains a blend of Tangerine, Ylang Ylang, Blue Tansy, Orange, and Patchouli oils.
This is a great one to use to promote restful sleep. And if you put a couple drops in your freshly washed hair, it makes your hair soft and smooth!

3- Joy
How you can you not like an oil called Joy? I mean, really.
Joy is a blend of Bergamot, Lemon, Palmarosa, Ylang Ylang, Rose, Geranium, Jasmine, Roman Chamomile, Coriander, and Tangerine.
According to Young Living’s description of Joy, it “brings happiness to the heart”. Awww.

4- Aroma Ease
This is a new oil from Young Living. It promotes calm, and I think it smells yummy.
It contains a blend of Peppermint, Spearmint, Ginger, Cardamom, and Fennel.

5- Lavender
I’ve said it before, but this is probably my favorite oil. I love the smell of lavender, and it really does bring you a sense of peace.
Lavender is a very versatile oil. It’s one of those oils that you carry with you everywhere, because you can use it for just about anything.

6- Ylang Ylang
I’ve made fun of this oil name before.
I know, probably not very nice, but, come on, it just begs to be poked fun at.
This is another oil that I did not care to smell at first. But what’s weird is now I think it smells great.
This oil seems to bring me peace pretty quickly.
And you may remember from a previous post that it can be used to, ahem, encourage romantic feelings.

7- Grapefruit
This one has a sweet smell, and in addition to its calming properties, it can be used to support proper digestion and proper immune function.

Yes, these are the oils that help to give me peace and relaxation.
